Netflix Audio Description - Watch Netflix with your eyes closed
A Feature By Netflix: Audio Descriptions for Netflix Movies and TV Shows.
Audio description is an optional narration that describes what is happening on-screen, including physical actions, facial expressions, costumes, settings and scene changes.
Did you know you could watch Netflix without actually watching? You could be multi-tasking as you watch a Netflix movie and yet never miss out on any detail as a narrator vividly narrates the story as the story unfolds.
Here’s how to turn on Audio Description for Netflix:
Select the movie you wish to watch (Did we mention you can use the Trim Google Chrome extension to find awesome films?)
Once the movie is playing, click on Subtitles at the bottom right corner of your screen
Select English – Audio Description
To switch off, simply uncheck English – Audio Description once again.
This is available on Netflix for both browser and mobile app. However, note that not all films have Audio Description available.
Netflix launched Audio Description Feature in April 2015 with a heartening intent to allow the blind to enjoy Netflix. It first released this feature together with Marvel’s TV Series – Daredevil.
For the rest of us, it is still a useful feature to have if we are watching Netflix whilst preparing a meal, working out or doing our work with Netflix playing in the background.
